World Class Entertainment (WCE) has recruited two talented teams to travel to China and participate in the tournament. 'We have an agreement from the DGib Hoops, under 17 year old boys team in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), a national summer league for student basketball players,' says Ron Turner of WCE. 'These kids are excited at the chance of playing overseas. They train hard and are dedicated to improving their basketball skills individually and as teams. International competition will definitely help them develop into well rounded players and expand their life horizons. I'm really proud of these boys and feel confident they will do well against teams from China.'
'Hard work, socializing with the right crowd, and creating goals are keys to success in the Hoops basketball programs,' according to Ken ‘Juice' Williams, former UH Cougars basketball standout and Director of Team and Player Development for WCE. 'Each team has no tolerance for drugs, alcohol and gambling. Their goal is to have a positive impact and to help successfully direct its players' lives. The coaches are role models for the players. Each is a volunteer who is carefully screened and must have the well being of the players as their first priority. They not only teach the game of basketball, but also prepare them for life's challenges. Many of the players come from foster or single parent homes and the program provides an avenue for the hopes and dreams of the players to become real. The program is driven by what is best for the child. Whether in a game, practice, classroom, or life, the child is the first priority of the D Gib Hoops organization.
